Ms. Jeanie's Bio

I was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri a long time ago. I have lived in Texas most of the time growing up w/th 3 siblings and 2 parents. I have an older brother, younger brother and sister. My dad died a year ago and my mom lives in Ft. Worth with my brother and family.

My husband, James L. and I have 3 grown children. James L. is a financial consultant and radio personality. Our oldest daughter, Mary and husband Jason live in Houston and work for energy companies.  Our middle son, James A. lives in Brownwood and plays guitar. Our youngest son John and his wife, Sarah live in Dallas. John is an accountant and Sarah is a civil engineer. Mary, Jason, John and Sarah all graduated from Texas A&M.

As a teacher, I have taught elementary school in Texas, Nebraska, and Iowa. I have also been a clinical social worker and got a Master's Degree in Counseling Education. I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor.  For some years I was the Clinical Director here at the ranch and also maintained a private therapy practice.

In my free time, I love to eat ethnic foods with my family, do yoga and meditate, read wonderful books, pretend to be an  interior decorator, sew and create things and  #1 travel in the summers to anywhere in the world that I haven't been yet.  This summer I hope to travel in China.

Along with others, it was my dream to see a school on the ranch that met the unique needs of  our population. It is deeply gratifying to see that dream coming true. It is my hope and dream that our students will learn to love learning and continue for a lifetime.   I look forward to seeing all that will happen in the years ahead.

Things I know for sure:
I live in a great country and am grateful everyday for the sacrifices that others have made for my freedom.
Nature's beauty is one of the most underappreciated gifts from God.
I can learn millions of valuable lessons from the animal kingdom.
If I never try, I fail 100% of the time. It doesn't matter if I win or lose, it matters how hard I try!!!
Humor can be a best friend.
The love of a loyal dog is a truely great gift.
A child's love is in a class above all others.
Love matters more than everything else----------and lasts forever.
