Brune School: High School: Science

Back Porch Birds

The Biology classes at Ed Brune  keep species notes and counts for the birds seen at our classroom feeders. The class also counts birds on field trips around the ranch. They submits data to e-bird. E-bird is a joint effort between the Audubon society and the Cornell University Ornithology Department. The purpose of e-bird is to collect data from different locations across the American continent For more information on e-bird visit http://ebird.org/content/ebird/

 Cook's Slough Nature Park Birds

The Big Springs Ranch is home to the Golden Cheek-ed Warbler and the Black Capped Vireo. During the Spring and Summer months, a group of graduate students studies the nesting of these the birds at Big Springs Ranch.For the past two years, they shared their data with our classes. They also gave presentations to the science classes at Ed Brune School. See their data at the links below:
